After leaving San Francisco we stopped in Walker in the north of California for one night - the night of the fabulous sunset near the motel. I had driven down the road to photograph the sunset from a better vantage point and got chatting to a group at the motel there. They recommended Mono Lake so it was added to the itiniery. This was a roadside stop overlooking the valley.
