The panorama from the balcony of our house in Kościelisko just west of Zakopane with incredible views of the Tatra mountains. This corner of Poland is very close to Slovakia, the closest point being on the hill to the right of the picture. The border also runs along the line of mountains in the centre with some of the more distant peaks being fully in Slovakia. The peak of Kresanica is just over 4 miles away as the crow flies and at 6961ft is more than twice as high as Scafell Pike, although the village where we are is already at 3000 ft. |
