We stopped in Gernika and quickly found this park with 3 statues in it. The Henry Moory commemorates the attack on the town in 1937 by the Luftwaffe and Italian Air Force, when more than 1000 civilians were killed. The large block sculpture by Eduardo Chillidah was built 50 years after the bombing. On the far side of the road is a female figure which commemorates the nazi atrocity in Oradur, France.
