A little way up the scree path on the west side of Skiddaw. The haze suddenly started to thicken to the west so I grabbed a quick panorama just in case it reached us. Fortunately that didn't happen. We took the zig zag right hand path up through the scree. The young couple below us on the path in this picture had followed us up from Ravenstone and overtook us on Ullock Pike. However they gave up half way up this track to the summit and retreated back over Carl Side. We stopped to chat as they passed up and they were slightly unprepared for the conditions. This bit was quite tough going in the heat and one slightly loose scrambly bit but didn't last too long.
