The first part of the descent was awkward with some clambering down Wetherlam Edge when we lost the path. After that the lower part of the descent over Birk Fell was easy walking. Little Langdale valley below us looks very chilly in the shade. Very clear air today gave great visibility - Ingleborough Fell on the horizon to the east is 32miles away.
