The descent from Heron Pike overlooking Glenridding. Our hotel is also visible in Patterdale. It was steep route down in places but we hoped that we would speed up once we reached the path around Glenridding Dodd. However the path down through the woods to the north was also slow going and it took us an hour and a quarter to get back to the car from Heron Pike.
