11.10 Looking back at Honister and the car park . . . .
11.22 . . . . and up the way we are going.
11.59 From the summit of Fleetwith Pike on a gusty and wet day. The first of three Wainwrights today.
13.03 On the path up Brandreth.
13.40 Brandreth summit view of Ennerdale. A familiar view of Pillar for us. |
13.41 Panorama 219 Brandreth summit looking down two valleys - Ennerdale to the left and Buttermere and Crummock Water to the right. |
Brandreth's one claim to distinction is based on its superb view of the High Stile range flanked by the valleys of Ennerdale and Buttermere, a magnificent prospect.

13.41 Brandreth summit. A brief interval in the rain and a sunny spot over Rannerdale Knotts and Whiteless Pike. After this we walked over to Grey Knotts for the third Wainwright of the day. No more photos though as the rain then set in for the rest of the morning. It was good to get back to Honister for refreshments before heading home in the evening.
