11.28 Setting off after checking out from the Glaramara Hotel we walked along the road to Seatoller then took this path out of the bus turn car park.

11.31 Overlooking the hotel. Despite getting instructions from the National Trust kiosk girl we still managed to choose the wrong path and just after this we had to turn around and try again.

12.05 Panorama 1126 Eventually made it to the top of High Doat.

12.28 Castle Crag and King's How in the distance

12.43 My fellow walker is banished to be a focal point. This was the last I saw of him for more than an hour.

12.54 Panorama 1127 I found a nice little viewpoint that projected out just a few yards from the path for a very green view looking down on Borrowdale.

13.03 At the junction of the path off to the right that leads to the Wainwright.

13.05 Approaching the point where there are two stiles. Cross both of them and then continue up on the other side of the wall. Its very easy to forget the second stile on the way back.

13.08 The slate zig-zags up to the lower platform are safer than they look.

12.54 The second visit to Castle Crag summit (Wainwright #164 951 ft) first visited early in the morning in April 2022.

12.54 Panorama 1128 I took 2 very similar panoramas, standing a few feet apart.

13.18 Looking down into the quarry area.

13.34 From the lower platform area.

14.28 Dropping down near Lingy Bank to the river.

14.39 Then across a field below Johnny's Wood.

14.44 On the path that skirts below Johnny's Wood.

15.01 Passing through the Youth Hostel grounds at Longthwaite.
