  10.10 Leaving the Glaramara Hotel.

10.?? At the turnoff for Seathwaite

10.34 We met Hazel who was heading for Scafell Pike.

10.54 Approaching Stockley Bridge with Seathwaite Fell in the background. By now we'd had at least two rainshowers.

10.54 By now we had thrown Hazel as a sacrifice to chatshit.com for quite a while and she was probably beginning to rethink her life choices. We separated them after the bridge and Evie did the heavy lifting for a while.

11.40 We left the Styhead path below us and began to climb the end of Seathwaite Fell. We also left all other walkers behind us and didn't see anyone else until the other end of the fell.

The steepest part of the whole day but it only took half an hour or so to get up it.

12.16 Panorama 1116 On the Wainwright summit of Seathwaite Fell at 1972 ft is lower than the highest point on the fell by 100 ft and yet is generally considered the summit.

12.30 Looking back at the summit.

12.40 The unnamed tarn near Great Slack with Esk Pike and Great End in the background.

  12.42

12.49 Heading up the path from Styhead to Esk Hause. I seem to have acquired a village idiot on my travels.

12.39 Panorama 1117 After lunch looking at Esk Hause we began the short climb up Allen Crags. I did have a vague plan to do an out and back to Esk Pike but decided there was too much cloud around to make it worthwhile.

  Ascending Allen Crags.

14.02 Langdale Pikes and Windermere in the background.

14.07 The path up Great Gable and Sprinkling Tarn below us.

14.08 The cloud is just starting to move and hopes of it being clear on Glaramara are rising.

14.12 Panorama 1118 Descending Allen Crags.

14.30 Lots of ponds and tarns on the way across.

  14.40

14.41 Panorama 1119 High House Tarn Top. It was quite windy by now especially on the actual tops where it became more difficult to take the panoramas.

14.47 There was a stiff breeze blowing across this tarn from left to right. We found a small automatic monitoring device installed on that patch of grass in the middle.

15.11 Panorama 1120 Red Beck Top.

15.20 Great Gable, Green Gable, Base Brown.

15.38 The Isle of Man looked very clear.

  15.38 Great End

15.43 Panorama 1121 Looking Steads summit.

15.45 Between Looking Steads and Glaramara.

  15.46 Pillar

15.48 An unusual angle on Great Gable.

16.01 Panorama 1122 On the southern summit of Glaramara and beautifully clear in all directions. Wainwright #213 2569 ft

16.12 Panorama 1123 I took a short scramble to reach Glaramara's northern summit although there is an easy walk up from the east side.

Returning from my visit to Glaramara's south summit.

16.26 Descending Glaramara on the way to Combe Head.

16.33 Looking over Borrowdale from above Combe Gill.

  16.39 Panorama 1124 Combe Head.

  16.42 Pike O'Stickle

  16.43 Looking back at Glaramara

  17.24 Looking over Borrowdale

  17.24

  17.27

17.27 Panorama 1125 Descending Thornythwaite Fell

17.28 We admired the impressive wall. The path soon drops off the right hand side of the fell towards Combe Gill.

18.00 An interesting rock strewn part of the fellside.

18.35 Looking over the lovely front field of the hotel as we walk back along the road.
