Good. Gives a fair idea of cloud and snow cover over the central fells south of Keswick. Also possible to assess rain and wind from the areas closer to the marina.

Very good. Rarely affected by changing light.

Very good. Rarely offline in the last few years.

Other Comments

A good quality webcam looking across the northern end of Derwentwater from Portinscale. A good people watcher sometimes. This webcam overlaps slightly with the Lingholm webcam so it is sometimes possible to see boats disappear on the right hand side of this webcam and then appear on the left side of that webcam or vice versa. Often produces an attractive picture in the late afternoon when the higher fells are lit up in the evening sun but Walla Crag, being lower, is darker.
