We reached Scandale Pass at the top of Claiston Glen and turned left to start the walk up the western side of Red Screes. The cloud was funnelling through the pass below us as it blew in from the south. We could see it accelerating as it squeezed through the gap. Far to the west the cloud was also blowing across the fells, revealing the highest peaks a few at a time; Bowfell, Crinkle Crags and in this picture, Scafell Pike.
