| 11.22 After a short drive from Patterdale Hotel we parked at The Brotherswater Inn. We walked along the road for a few minutes then crossed into the fields and began the walk up Caiston Glen. |

| 12.31 At the top of Caiston Glen we turned up to the left and began the climb up Red Screes. The wind and cloud whipped though Scandale Pass behind us and as the cloud cleared for a few seconds at a time we could get glimpses of distant fells. In this case a brief view of the Scafells some 12 miles to the west. | ||
